“I’m doing okay,” you say to your friends. It’s a lie, but you don’t want to bring the mood down for the others. After all, they’re dealing with their jobs and families.
Besides, what are you going to say? That you almost canceled on them because even the things you used to enjoy, like having brunch with girlfriends, make you anxious and on edge?
You know they mean well and might have some good things to say if you told them the truth. But it never seems like the right time, and you don’t want to make it about you. You want to be able to celebrate their accomplishments, but it feels too vulnerable to share your achievements and struggles.

Is therapy different when it’s online instead of in person?
Many people have discovered teletherapy can be as effective and more convenient than in-person therapy. With teletherapy, there is no need to leave home or cancel due to traffic or bad weather. You only need a secure Internet/WiFi connection and a private space.
